There's nothing wrong with not liking being a mother. It's just better to realize this before having a kid. How did this realization escape your notice prior to having a child?! Or did you feel pressured to have one and thought maybe you'd grow to like motherhood?

I know a few women who are open about not wanting children and I know they get a lot of flack from people--especially other women--for their decision.

I liked being a dad (I have 2 sons, 27 and 31)--but still liked it when they took a nap or went to bed at night. It's rewarding work but exhausting. If they asked me to color with them... I would have gladly gone to the dentist for a root canal instead.

So, one doesn't need to love being a parent 24/7/365 to enjoy parenthood. Hang in there!
